When asked which about his favourite dive site on Pemba Island Randjit Sondhi, owner One Earth Safaris & Manta Reef Lodge had this to say.
"Fundu Gap with no question. This location holds 6 dives, which on different tides each offer a "new" dive site again.

Pemba Island has over 250 different bird specis of which 4 of them are endemic to the area, including the most striking Pemba Sunbird.

Walks can be arranged in the Ngezi forest which is perfect for the avid birdwatcher.

Nature Walks from Ngezi Forest through the farms and ending at the lighthouse north of Manta Ree Lodge.

Road Safaris to tour the island and visit the beaches, villages, rubber tree and clove plantations. (full day)Mountain Biking for seeing the island in an energetic manner.

The whale season begins in July through to September, when the whales migrate southwards. Whales can be sighted in the channel between Kenya & Pemba Island or along the coastlines of Kenya and Pemba.
Whale sharks arrive in along the coast after November and stay until early March.
You can increase your chances of seeing whale sharks by diving or snorkelling across the channel.

One of the most popular activities on the island, there are a number of dolphin types that frequent the area. Boat trips are arranged specifically for the viewing of the dolphins, where you can either watch the dolphins from the boat or dive in and swim with them.

The Pemba Channel boasts no fewer than 6 varieties of billfish and the chances of catching them are good in season.
